LIONS IN WINTER is an annual literary festival that has included author readings, craft talks by featured writers in fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction, editors panels, book fairs, and more.

The 2024 Lions in Winter festival features three internationally known writers: Other Names for Love author Taymour Soomro, ceramist and the author of Cost of Living: Essays Emily Maloney, and Bram Stoker Award and International Latino Book Award winner Cynthia Pelayo.

The festival will feature a catered reception followed by readings and a Q&A session with visiting writers and students, starting at 5:30 PM on Thursday January 25. Craft Talks will be presented by the featured writers on Friday January 26.

The festival is free and open to the public and will be held at the Doudna Fine Arts Center on EIU's campus. Tickets are required and can be obtained from the Doudna Box Office.
