Be sure to mark your calendar for Saturday, September 26! Booth Library at Eastern Illinois University is transforming into a comic and manga paradise and hosting the EIU Comic Fest 2026! This event is FREE and open to the public. Come for the comics, escape rooms, games, artists alley, costume show/cosplay contest, trivia games, hands-on activities, exhibit displays, and much more! Design an Anime-Style Character

Think you’ve got the design skills to animate this year’s EIU Comic Fest? Here’s your chance! We’re looking for an anime-style character in three different poses to license as our official Comic Fest mascot. The 2026 EIU Comic Fest Contest is officially OPEN, and the winner will take home a $300 prize!

Contest Info:

• You must be a current EIU student.
• Create an anime-style character in three different poses:
  • Directional Gesturing
  • Speaking
  • A Third Pose of Your Choice
• Your character must be original artwork. No copyrighted images and final production submissions must be original artwork not AI.
• At least one pose should translate well for printing in single color on EIU Comic Fest 2026 t-shirts.
• Entries are Due April 29.

Please note that the winning submission will be licensed to Booth Library for usage related to EIU Comic Fest 2026 in perpetuity, however the copyright for the character will remain with the submitting artist.
