Abstract
This exploratory study uses personal narratives from 5 women in senior management to explore the relationship, if any, between women in management and emotional disequilibrium in the workplace. The following questions are of primary interest: 1. Is the workplace a source of emotional disequilibrium for women in management?; and 2. If so, how are these emotionally challenging experiences being managed? This study reveals that many women in management encounter emotionally challenging experiences in the workplace confirming the workplace as a source of emotional disequilibrium.
