Department Chair: Don Holly

The Department offers a major in Sociology (B.A.), a major in Criminology and Criminal Justice (B.A.), and minors in Anthropology, Criminology, Sociology, and Environmental Studies. For those interested in Sociology we offer a well-rounded curriculum that exposes students to the central areas of study in the discipline and challenges students to think critically about society and social behavior. Similarly, for those interested in Criminology, our undergraduate major in Criminology and Criminal Justice provides a student-centered curriculum that enables students to think critically about the causes and consequences of crime and criminal behavior. Through our website, we hope to provide a sense of with the Department offers, the opportunities that are available, and answer any questions you might have. However, if you have specific questions or require additional information please feel free to contact us at: soc1@eiu.edu..
