Here we have what most of the housing in the Charleston area looks like between the West entrance of town and 12th Street, aside from some apartment complexes that are not in much better shape. This is how so many people live in our world today due the lower incomes and higher rent payments and available spaces. This situation for a family with children can cause many health issues aside from safe housing, such as no room physical activity and neighborhood safety. If you look closely, you also notice no sidewalk, in a town and where most people commute by walking. This is a safety hazard and a show of how we could improve our area in just the slightest ways in this form of the Social Determinants of Health.
