Library Advisory Board (LAB)

The Library Ambassadors of Booth (LAB), comprised of six student "library ambassadors," was established in 2022. The LAB, working in collaboration with the First Year Experience/Student Success Librarian and the Research, Engagement, and Scholarship department, create, organize, and lead various outreach and scholarly activities for EIU students.

With the goals of offering student voice to the Library and continuing to make Booth a place of belonging, the LAB develops and executes dozens of programs each academic year, ranging from “Welcome to Booth Bingo” to “No Tech Nights” to “Digital Scholarship Roundtables” encouraging both scholarly and social-emotional support for students.  These activities are an essential aspect of successful on-boarding for first year students and a focus of the Library’s student success and retention efforts.
