Mexico: Nuevo Leon. Cultivated, clumped shrub or tree to 25 feet, collected on campus of I.T.E.S.M. in Monterrey, altitude 1600 feet. Old fields, waste places, and abandoned homesites. Hardy in the United states as far north as Washington D.C., but does best in subtropical southern regions. Escaping cultivation in the Gulf Coast states.
