Description
Emma Chenault Kelly is a distinguished woman. She graduated from Eastern Illinois State Teachers High School in 1923 and continued her education at Eastern earning a two-year teaching certificate. She then went on to receive a bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky, a master's degree form Columbia University and a doctorate in education from New York University. In the 1940s, she joined the Women's Army Corps (WAC), and, by 1992, she published a book containing her letters and newspaper articles from WWII.
