Description
Black and white portrait photograph of Martin "Otto" Schahrer, Eastern Illinois State Normal School student from 1913 to 1917. Captain of the 1916 football team and president of the class of 1917, Schahrer subsequently enlisted in the U.S. Army and died in 1918 during World War I. Schahrer Field (the athletic field formerly on the Booth Library site) was dedicated in his memory.
