Black and white photograph of crowd gathered at ground breaking ceremony for the science building, with Annie Weller, head of the geography department, turning the first spade of dirt.
Label attached to photograph reads "Science Building, Breaking Ground, Laying the Corner Stone, September 21, 1937." Groundbreaking, however, took place on May 31 as part of commencement exercises.
Building later known as Physical Sciences.
