Description
This scholarship is a prestigious Housing Scholarship recognizing the contributions of an outstanding student leader in EIU’s on-campus community. Nominations may be made by any Housing Professional Staff member, with a limit of one nomination per staff member.
Richard Enochs was the Assistant Director of Housing and was responsible for the care and maintenance of the department’s facilities. He was also responsible for University Apartments, known originally as married student housing. He was well known as a person who always looked out for the students’ best interests. On March 5, 1978, he unexpectantly passed away. Friends and representatives of the Housing and Dining Office honored the memory of Mr. Enochs by establishing the Richard G. Enochs Scholarship on June 5, 1978.
