This exhibit and program series provides historical information on the 1918 influenza pandemic as well as providing a current public health perspective on influenza. Topics of contagion, vaccination and infection will be covered from a historical, medical and social perspective. The effect of the 1918 flu on EIU and Charleston will be highlighted. Coverage of the epidemic in the press will be explored. Local public health experts will cover measures taken to control future epidemics.
