Conspiratorial beliefs are more prevalent among political extremists compared to demographic factors. Party ideological alignment plays a stronger role than gender in shaping conspiratorial beliefs.
This theory posits that individuals on the extreme ends of the g political spectrum are more prone to hold conspiratorial views due to cognitive biases, distrust in institutions, and identity reinforcement.
