Description

The opening reception for Booth Library's fall exhibit and program series, "The Flu Then and Now: 1918 to 2018," was held on Sept. 19, 2018, in the library's West Reading Room. Period music was played on a 1918-era Edison record player. Remarks were given by library Dean Zach Newell, EIU President David Glassman and EIU Provost Jay Gatrell. The keynote speaker was Sheila Simons, professor of health promotion, who presented " 1918 Influenza: Impact, Implications and Uncertainty." Refreshments were served.
